Nollywood icon Funke Akindele addressed the growing trend of BBL surgeries during a recent interview on The Morayo Show, providing insight into her personal views on the cosmetic procedure.

Speaking, Akindele said, “I must say, I love to see beautiful women with beautiful bodies. I actually like it. I am not talking about the excess ones but the normal ones. I want to do it but I don’t have the mind.”

While acknowledging the visual appeal of the procedure, Akindele urged prospective patients to prioritize safety and thoroughly evaluate the dangers involved.

“I am not against it. If you want to enhance your beauty, go ahead, but be careful.”

Akindele’s comments come at a time when BBLs are a massive topic of conversation. In the world of celebrities and influencers, the pressure to look a certain way often clashes with serious health warnings.

The surgery has become even more controversial lately following the tragic death of a popular influencer due to complications from the procedure.

Elena Jessica Nkwopara, a well-known Nigerian influencer, died following a second BBL surgery in Lagos. After facing issues with an initial procedure, she reportedly went back for a "corrective" surgery to fix the problems. Sadly, she suffered major complications during or immediately after that second operation.
