Dremo Explains Why He Left DMW

Dremo Sets the Record Straight on Leaving DMW

Nigerian rapper Dremo has opened up about leaving Davido Music Worldwide (DMW). He explained that he left because of broken promises and how the label was run.

In a recent interview with Echo Room, he said the label felt more like a platform to get noticed rather than a team that fully supported him. He felt he didn't get the help he expected to grow his career.

He mentioned that the label focused mostly on its founder, Davido, which left other artists to struggle on their own.

Dremo also said the artists didn't really work together. "Even though there were many talented people there, everyone was too busy looking out for themselves".

He noted that he couldn't even manage to collaborate with fellow rapper Idowest while they were both on the label.

“I didn’t get what I wanted from the label,” he said, adding that the experience ultimately shaped his outlook on the industry.

After leaving his big record label (DMW), Dremo decided to go independent so he could do things his own way. Since then, his music has been even better.

His recent "Man-to-Man" series—a collection of fast-paced, raw freestyles—has proven to everyone that he is still one of the best and most consistent rappers in the game.
