Global Force: Rema Captivates Mawazine Stage After World Cup Opening Ceremony
Just days after delivering an incredible performance at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the US alongside LISA, Katy Perry, Anitta, Tyla, and Future, Rema is once again making global headlines.
The Nigerian Afrobeats star headlined the Mawazine Festival on the prestigious OLM Souissi stage in Rabat, Morocco. He shared the lineup with international superstars such as Ninho, Major Lazer, Tyla, Nicky Jam, ITZY, Wael Kfoury, Oumou Sangaré, Sampa The Great, Macy Gray, and Imany, among dozens of others. Mawazine is ranked among the world’s largest music festivals, frequently compared to the likes of Coachella and Glastonbury.
The sold-out festival, which featured over 90 acts across seven stages, drew more than 3.75 million visitors to the capital. In viral clips circulating online, Rema gave the crowd exactly what they came for. From the very first note, the Moroccan audience was completely captivated. Backed by pyrotechnics, striking smoke visuals, and a dramatic stage design of towering white pillars, the performance felt like the definitive beginning of the next chapter in his career.
Styled in a graphic-print tee featuring a fiery, liquid-gold design, paired with dark designer trousers and bold accessories, Rema opened his set with his latest hit, “HEHEHE,” before moving into “Dumebi” and “Woman.” He then shifted the mood with a melodic rendition of “Calm Down,” bringing the entire arena to its feet as the crowd danced in perfect unison to the iconic track. With back-to-back appearances on the world's biggest stages, Rema’s influence on the international music scene continues to soar.
