Burna Boy stopped speaking to me over rumours that I slept with his girlfriend – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has revealed that his strained relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy stemmed from false rumors spread by former members of his management team. According to Shatta Wale, ex-associates allegedly falsely claimed that he had an affair with Burna Boy’s girlfriend during the Nigerian artist’s visit to Ghana.

Speaking on a recent episode of  The Honest Bunch Podcast, the musician recalled welcoming Burna Boy warmly, noting that he provided him with accommodation, transportation, and hospitality throughout his stay in the country.

Shatta Wale alleged that following his professional parting of ways with certain team members, those individuals targeted key relationships in his life. He claimed they contacted influential figures in his circle—including Burna Boy—with fabricated accusations intended to undermine his personal and professional ties.

“They told Burna Boy that I was f**king his girl he brought to Ghana. He just bought it,” he claimed.

He further noted that despite multiple attempts to contact Burna Boy after the Nigerian artist achieved global success, his calls and messages remained unanswered.

Shatta Wale shared that he even reached out to Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, who offered explanations as to why the artist was unavailable to take his calls.

While expressing genuine happiness over Burna Boy’s massive success in the global music industry, Shatta Wale voiced disappointment that he was never given the opportunity to clarify the situation and refute the allegations made by his former team members.
