GehGeh Breaks Silence: ‘Wedding’ Was Only Staged to Test Public Response

Content creator and relationship commentator Emmanuel Obruste, widely known as GehGeh, has clarified that his recent viral wedding ceremony was merely a publicity stunt designed as a social experiment.

Speculation regarding the outspoken influencer's marital status mounted over the weekend following the viral spread of footage depicting Obruste and his partner dressed in matching burgundy traditional attire.

The videos sparked significant backlash from followers and online commentators, many of whom accused Obruste of contradicting his well-documented views on relationships and marriage. Additionally, the event created tension among family members who expressed frustration over being excluded from the purported nuptials.

Setting the record straight during a recent interview with Stream rewind, Obruste confirmed that the ceremony was entirely staged and was never intended to function as a legitimate wedding.

“We organised everything as a normal promo. And so far, apart from the fact that we purposely did it, I still wanted to get the public’s reactions,” he said in Pidgin English.

“Some people have a misunderstanding about my GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University. When you see some people, the major thing they have been saying is that GehGeh told them not to get married, but I got married,” he said.

“I did not kick against marriage. I said, ‘Do not marry, and even if you must marry, go for polygamy.’ This is because polygamy is the path that guides a man’s heart from heartbreak,” he said.

“Because when you are with different women, it will be hard for one woman to manipulate you. And this was what our forefathers practised. That is the core principle of my university,” he added.
