KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2024, will make her first official public appearance since sustaining serious injuries during the Miss Universe competition in Thailand in November 2025.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization announced late Saturday that Dr. Henry will participate in the Miss Universe Jamaica 2026 Grand Coronation on Sunday, August 23, at the AC Hotel Kingston.
Dr. Henry spent a significant portion of her reign recovering from an on-stage fall during the international pageant on November 19, 2025. Her injuries included a fracture and an intracranial hemorrhage. She will return to the spotlight to crown her successor at Sunday’s event.
The organization highlighted her appearance as a defining highlight of the coronation, marking her return to the local stage as 33 contestants complete their journey for the national title.
Organizers emphasized that her presence represents both a triumphant return to public life and a symbolic passing of the torch. The Grand Coronation is set to convene key figures from Jamaica's fashion, beauty, media, and pageant communities to honor this year’s contestants.
