Influencer Ignored Warning to Split Penis Enlargement Surgery, Says Nigerian Clinic

A Bangkok cosmetic clinic has informed investigators that Nigerian content creator Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo insisted on completing a penis enlargement procedure in a single session, overriding medical advice to divide the treatment into two parts, according to a report by The People.

Ubiribo, a UK-based Nigerian influencer residing in London, passed away on March 6—less than 24 hours after receiving hyaluronic acid penile filler injections at the facility—per Westminster Coroner’s Court inquest records obtained by PEOPLE.

During an August 21 inquest hearing, records revealed that post-mortem and toxicology evaluations determined the cause of death was linked to a pulmonary embolism resulting from the hyaluronic acid injection.

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed on September 7 that a formal investigation into the clinic had been launched. Public Health Minister Pattana Phromphat instructed the Department of Health Service Support (DHSS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Minister Phromphat informed local media that preliminary findings indicate a private Bangkok hospital had contacted emergency medical services to dispatch an ambulance for an unresponsive patient. Inquest documents state that Ubiribo experienced chest pains and collapsed on March 5, several hours following the procedure. He was transferred to a local hospital for a CT scan but lost consciousness prior to the scan. Resuscitation efforts, including 101 minutes of CPR, were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. on March 6.

Health authorities inspected the facility on September 7 to evaluate its compliance with established medical standards. DHSS Director-General Phuwadet Surakot noted that the clinic’s identity has not been publicly released.

Clinic management informed investigators that Ubiribo had been a client since 2024 and had previously completed five penile enlargement procedures. Management stated that prior to the March 5 treatment, a physician recommended splitting the procedure into two sessions; however, Dr. Surakot noted that Ubiribo requested the entire dose be administered at once.

The facility further stated that Ubiribo signed standard consent forms prior to every appointment, received post-procedure care guidelines, and had never reported complications from earlier treatments.

The ongoing inquiry aims to establish whether the facility adhered to professional medical standards. The Ministry of Public Health noted that collected evidence will be forwarded to the Medical Council for a final determination.

Ubiribo maintained an Instagram audience of over 180,000 followers, where he regularly documented his lifestyle alongside his wife, Dani Allen.
