Man City Found Guilty on 114 of 115 Charges — Club Faces Major Premier League Sanctions

Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of breaching the majority of the 115 financial charges brought against them by the Premier League, according to reports.
The ruling comes at the end of a lengthy investigation into the club's business affairs, and leaves the reigning champions exposed to serious sporting and financial penalties.
The Premier League has not yet released the judgment, but a City spokesperson told The Athletic:
"The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality. As such, Manchester City FC's position remains consistent with the club's statement of February 2023."
"The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence."
The Premier League's probe into City was triggered after German publication Der Spiegel released leaked internal club documents in November 2018.
City were formally charged in February 2023 over alleged breaches of financial regulations spanning nine seasons, from 2009/10 to 2017/18 — a period in which the club claimed three Premier League titles. The club was also accused of failing to cooperate fully with the league's inquiry into its finances.
City denied all the charges. At the time, the club said it was "surprised" by the charges given the "extensive engagement" and the "vast amount of detailed materials" it had already supplied to the Premier League.
The matter was subsequently referred to an independent commission, with a 12-week hearing getting underway in late 2024.
