Young POS Operator Shot Dead by Gunmen in Rukpakwulushi, Eliozu

A young man who recently completed his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and was working as a Point-of-Sale (POS) operator was shot dead yesterday by unidentified gunmen suspected to be robbers.

According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants arrived on a motorcycle (commonly known as "okada") and pointed a gun at the victim. When he attempted to stand and flee, they opened fire, killing him, before making away with his bag of cash and POS device.

The incident occurred at Rukpakwulushi, Eliozu.

The victim has been identified as a native of Bayelsa State. Community members and residents are calling for justice and urging security agencies to investigate and apprehend those responsible.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant, particularly at night, and to raise the alarm if they notice motorcycles or unfamiliar riders loitering suspiciously in their area.
