Nollywood actress Blessing Onwukwe, famous for her role as "Mama Monica," has shared that her performance in the hit film Monica 2 earned her over ₦1 million. This marks her highest-ever payout for a single film project.

Produced by Uche Montana, the movie has become an internet sensation, reportedly racking up over 6 million views on YouTube within just 24 hours of its release. During a recent interview with Yanga TV, Onwukwe spoke about how pleased she was with the film's success and the professional recognition she received from the producers.

When asked if this was her biggest payday to date, the actress explained that while long-running TV series can be lucrative, this was her largest fee for a standalone film.

“When it has to do with series, it is bulk money. But for a film, and a YouTube film, you can say this is the highest one-time payment I have received,” she stated.

Giving us a peek behind the scenes, Onwukwe revealed that Monica 2 was filmed in just seven days, while the first instalment, Monica 1, was completed in only five.

The film delves into the pressures of family life and the weight of societal expectations, with Onwukwe earning high praise for her performance as a no-nonsense, strict mother.
