Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Tems has further expanded her global footprint by assuming the role of Executive Music Producer and Curator for the soundtrack to Paramount Pictures' upcoming fantasy epic, Children of Blood and Bone.

This appointment represents another significant milestone for the Nigerian artist, whose influence across music, film, and contemporary culture continues to gain momentum. In addition to guiding the film's overall musical direction, Tems wrote and recorded three original songs for the project.

Already established as a pivotal figure in Afrobeats and a leading global music export, Tems now plays a central role in crafting the auditory identity for one of Hollywood’s most prominent adaptations of an African-inspired narrative.

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood commended Tems' artistic vision during the soundtrack launch at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City, noting that her creative direction was fundamental to shaping the project's sound.

“I wanted Tems to curate the soundtrack. I wanted her to executive produce it. She’s actually the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack at this level, which is incredible. She put together an epic soundtrack. There are absolutely no skips… The soundtrack is so amazing, and I’m so proud of Tems, who had never done this before and created something truly extraordinary,” she said.

Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s critically acclaimed, bestselling fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone follows a young hero’s quest for justice, purpose, and the restoration of magic in the mythical kingdom of Orïsha.

To craft an authentic sonic landscape, Tems assembled a distinguished roster of contemporary African talent. Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy serves as the project's Executive Music Consultant, contributing strategic oversight to the production process. The soundtrack features high-profile contributions from prominent artists including Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, and BNXN, with Ayra Starr also set to make her Hollywood acting debut in the feature film.

Scheduled for a global theatrical release on January 15, 2027, the project represents a major cultural milestone that highlights the expanding influence and reach of African creators within mainstream global media.
