 Grammy-nominated Afrobeats icon Ayra Starr is preparing to launch the next phase of her career with her third studio album, Starr Girl, scheduled for release on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records.

This project represents her first full-length effort since 2024’s The Year I Turned 21 and stands as one of the year’s most eager Afrobeats releases. Starr initially revealed the project during an April appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, offering fans the title and an initial July timeline. The release date was later adjusted to August 14 alongside the rollout of the official cover artwork, which was shared across social media and Roc Nation’s platform. The news follows months of cryptic studio updates, teasers, and live showcases pointing toward a bold creative evolution for the "Rush" and "Away" hitmaker.

Celebrated for her raw lyrical vulnerability and commanding stage presence, Starr has forged a deep connection with a global audience by addressing themes of identity, self-assurance, romance, and drive. Her signature mix of narrative depth and crossover melodies has solidified her position among Africa's most streamed female artists.

Starr Girl signals a clear departure from her previous age-focused titles, 19 & Dangerous and The Year I Turned 21. Speaking on her intent behind the record, Starr emphasized that her focus has shifted away from proving her position or chasing temporary trends toward producing music that inspires her listeners to dream bigger.

“I’m literally becoming a woman, and you can hear that in my music now. I want the record to encourage people to think bigger. The way I can do my best for this genre, my culture, and all the people that came before me is to be myself completely.
