UNIZIK Lecturer Stripped and Assaulted on Campus After Allegations of Misconduct

UNIZIK Lecturer Assaulted by Crowd Amid Misconduct Allegations

An individual identified as a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State, was stripped and physically assaulted by a crowd of students following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.

Video footage from the scene depicts a female student emerging from an office building in a distressed state, with her attire and hair disarranged. Background audio captures students shouting, “Catch him. Catch him o,” as several bystanders rushed toward the distressed student, who had collapsed onto the ground.

In another portion of the recording, a group of male students is seen surrounding and physically assaulting a stripped male individual.

According to unconfirmed accounts, the lecturer was reportedly confronted without clothing inside an office after the female student fled the premises carrying his garments, calling for assistance, and asserting that he had attempted to compel her into a sexual act.

The incident took place on campus, directly in front of the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies. Observers noted that the individual was subjected to immediate physical retaliation by the crowd prior to any formal investigation or opportunity to address the allegations.
